# EPSRC-funded Humanitarian Engineering and Energy for Displacement (HEED) datasets

This repository contains raw datasets collected under the EPSRC-funded Humanitarian Engineering and Energy for Displacement (HEED) research project (EP/P029531/1). 
The below data has been deposited here.

## Stove-use monitoring systems (SUMs)

SUM.zip - consists of the following files and folders
1. SUM_design_details - document containing the design and deployment details for SUMs.
2. Phase 1 - folder containing raw data from 10 SUM from phase 1 of the study. The files are labelled as SUM_[ID].csv, where ID refers to the unique identifier of the SUM.
3. Phase 2 - folder containing raw data from 9 SUM from phase 2 of the study. The files are labelled as SUM_[ID].csv, where ID refers to the unique identifier of the SUM. Note that the IDs used during phase 2 of study are independent of those used in phase 1 of study.
4. README.md - readme file containing metadata for .csv files.

## Mobile lantern monitoring systems (LMSs)

LMS.zip - consists of the following files and folders
1. LMS_design_details - document containing the design and deployment details for LMSs.
2. Phase 1 - folder containing raw data IAMfrom LMS from phase 1 of the study. The files are labelled as ML_[ID].csv, where ID refers to the unique identifier of the mobile lantern.
3. Phase 2 - folder containing raw data from LMS from phase 2 of the study. The files are labelled as ML_[ID].csv, where ID refers to the unique identifier of the mobile lantern. Note that the IDs used during phase 2 of study are independent of those used in phase 1 of study.
4. README.md - readme file containing metadata for .csv files.

## Individual appliance monitoring systems (IAMs)

IAM.zip - consists of the following files and folders
1. IAM_design_details - document containing the design and deployment details for IAMs.
2. Raw_data - folder containing raw data from 11 RPi gateway nodes. The files are labelled as RPI_[ID].json and RPI_[ID]_SD.txt, where ID refers to the unique identifier of the RPi node. The .json files contain data received at the remote server. The .txt files contain data stored locally at the devices in the SD card. Both files are included to circumvent loss in data transmission to the remote server due to Internet issues. Each file contains data from multiple IAMs. 
3. IAM_appliances.csv - file containing data to link the households and devices to IAMs. It also contains a change log i.e., if an IAM was removed from a device and plugged into another one. 
4. README.md - readme file containing metadata for .json, .txt and .csv files.

## Footfall monitoring systems (FMSs)

FMS.zip - consists of the following files and folders
1. Footfall_monitors_design_details - document containing the design and deployment details for FMSs.
2. Footfall - folder containing raw data from 7 footfall monitors in Nepal. The files are labelled as footfall_streetlight[ID].csv, where ID refers to the unique identifier of the streetlight beside the footfall monitor.
3. footfall_placement.csv - file containing the location of the footfall monitors with respect to the streetlights.
4. README.md - readme file containing metadata for .csv files.

## Standalone Solar System for a Community Hall 

Hall.zip - consists of the following files and folders
1. Hall_design_details - document containing the design, and deployment details for standalone system at the Hall. 
2. Raw-data - folder containing raw data from the CPEs, sockets and central unit at the Hall.
3. README.md - readme file containing metadata for Raw-data folder. The metadata for .csv files is included in Appendix of the design document.

## PV-battery Microgrid 

Microgrid.zip - consists of the following files and folders
1. Micro-grid_design_details - document containing the design, and deployment details for the PV-battery micro-grid. 
2. Raw-data - folder containing raw data from the CPEs, sockets and central unit at the Micro-grid.
3. README.md - readme file containing metadata for Raw-data folder. The metadata for .csv files is included in Appendix of the design document.
4. heed_kigeme_site.pdf - an aerial view of the site showing the location of the playground and nurseries.

## Standalone solar streetlights

SL.zip - consists of the following files and folders
1. Nepal_streetlight_design_details - document containing the design, and deployment details for the Nepal solar streetlights.
2. Nepal_SL - folder containing raw system data for Nepal SLs. 
3. Rwanda_streetlight_design_details - document containing the design, and deployment details for the Rwanda solar streetlights.
4. Rwanda_SL - folder containing raw system data for Rwanda SLs. 
5. README.md - readme file containing metadata for Nepal_SL and Rwanda_SL folders. The metadata for .csv files is included in Appendix of the design document.
